SpiralFactory the beginning

Posted by spiraldev, Posted on January 1, 2009

Do you like TranferORM and find yourself not using all of the cool features? Well that is what has happen to me. I have been using TranferORM and ColdBox for a lot of projects lately but it seems that TranferORM is not always the best solution for me.  I also found that just using the templates with a bean, DAO, Gateway and Service work just fine for 80% of my projects. Now with that being said it is easier with TranferORM to add new columns I don't have to re-run Illudium. So I decided to do something about this, I am working on a tool that I am calling SpiralFactory.  What I invision SpiralFactory becoming is a combo of TranferORM and Illudium. So here are the features that I am going to have that are inspired by TranferORM

  • list
  • delete
  • save
  • update
  • list by property map

Here is the Illudium part you will be able to generate your DAO and been or any tewplate you would like to be generated on the fly to a specified location.

Some of my own features will include

  • dynamic form page
  • dynamic list page
  • getDAO
  • getBean

Well thats it for now.

Thanks for that great insight. At least now, I can actually utilize TransferORM even more.

I’ve been most successful using your last suggestion. Nothing else has worked. I’m unable to “stack” these for some reason, so I’d love to figure that out, but thanks for the tips so far.
